Making Authentic Resolutions

Happy New Year! I hope you're enjoying the day and finding it a good opportunity to look forward with hope.

I didn't form any specific resolutions last night--just the ideas that I want to be more positive and to follow my creative instincts.

Over the years I've learned that trying to come up with a long list of resolutions is only an invitation to disappoint myself, especially if the resolutions are arbitrarily conceived. I'm old enough now that I understand what I need, and it's around those needs of the soul that I try to focus myself in the new year.

Certainly 2018 is a chance to start again, to do better, to live, share, love more fully.

I hope that your own resolutions will be helpful to you as you negotiate the next 365 days, and that each one of those days brings unexpected gifts.
