About Julia
Julia Buckley is a Chicago area writer. Her first mystery, The Dark Backward, was released in June of 2006; it earned high praise from Crimespree and others; her next book, Madeline Mann, was lauded by Kirkus and The Library Journal. The series is now available for the first time on Nook and Kindle.

Julia is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and Romance Writers of America. She keeps a writer’s blog at Mysterious Musings and does a weekly Monday post at Poe's Deadly Daughters.

Like her character Teddy Thurber, she is a bibliophile who teaches English.

Julia fell in love with mysteries back in the 1970's, when romantic suspense dominated the fiction scene and names like Mary Stewart, Phyllis A. Whitney, Victoria Holt, Velda Johnston, and other greats found their place onto her bookshelf.

These days she fights over mysteries with her teenage sons, who both love a good tale of suspense.  (Her husband prefers horror).  :)

She also shares home turf with one old beagle and three rather distant cats.
